Why you don't pay us until your product is finished

No deposits, no milestone invoices, nothing until your software is delivered and working — then from $35 a month. Inside the model, why it exists, and why almost nobody else offers it.

The dominant billing model in custom software has a conflict of interest built into its foundation: when a vendor bills by the hour — or collects a deposit before a line of code exists — every delay, every re-do, and every meandering meeting is revenue. Not because agencies are villains; most aren't. But incentives leak. Getting paid regardless of outcome simply pays better than being accountable to one, and over a long project that gravity always wins.

So we removed the invoice from the build entirely. You don't pay us anything until your finished product is delivered and running — then services start from $35 a month. Here's how that actually works, and why almost nobody else offers it.

How the model works

Scoping is free: we sit down with you, map the workflows, and write a plain-English product plan that defines exactly what 'finished' means. Then we build it — built by senior hands, working software demoed every Friday, staging access from week one — and through all of it you owe nothing. No deposit, no milestones, no hourly meter running in the background.

Your first payment happens the day the product in that plan is delivered and working in your hands. From there it's a subscription, starting at $35 a month, that keeps your software hosted, secure, patched, and supported — and can include ongoing feature development when you want the roadmap to keep moving.

Why we can afford to do this

Because the subscription makes us long-term greedy instead of short-term greedy. An agency that gets paid up front earns the most by finishing your relationship; we earn the most by keeping your software so good that you never want to leave. We recover the cost of the build over years of a subscription you're free to cancel any month — which means the only way our model works is if the software keeps working for you.

It also forces the discipline most projects are missing. When the builder doesn't get paid until the product ships, sloppy scoping, gold-plating, and endless timelines stop being someone else's problem. We feel every week of delay in our own economics — exactly the incentive you want on the other side of the table.

The questions everyone asks

Who decides what 'finished' means? You do — against the written plan from scoping, not against our opinion. What if we never finish? Then you never pay; that risk is ours, and it's why our scoping is honest about what we will and won't take on. What happens if you cancel? Your business data is yours and we'll export it for you; the software we build, host, and keep running stays with us — that's the trade that lets you start for $0 and pay just $35 a month.

That's the whole philosophy: you pay for a working product, not for effort spent trying. The risk sits with the people who can actually manage it — the builders — and your bill starts when your software does.
